La Digue Suites is located downtown Cheticamp, with a variety of delicious restaurants and Acadian culture all within walking distance! We have two Suites and two Junior Suites with everything you need to make sure you have a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Our Oceanview Suite is located in the upstairs/back of our building with a beautiful view of the fishing boats and Cheticamp Harbour.

Our Cabot Suite is located in the upstairs/front of our building and is wheelchair accessible.

Our Harbourview Junior Suite is located on ground level/back of our building.

Our Dockside Junior Suite is located on ground level/side of our building.

Built in 1900 by Sandey (à Nanette) Aucoin

William (à Nanette) Aucoin was one of the first natives of Cheticamp to bare start a business and opened a small store in 1894. His son Sandey followed suit in 1897 and build this big store in 1900.

The store was rented to the Matthews and Scott Company in 1917. After the departure of this company in 1927, the store remained vacant until 1940.

Charley (à P'tit John) Deveau, arrving from the Madeline Islands, purchased this store in 1940, where he converted the upstairs into a residense for his family and the basement remained as a warehouse.

Dan (à Sandey) Roach and his wife Antoinette rented the upper floor in 1949 then purchased the building in 1956 from Johnny, Charley (à P'tit John) son.

The Co-opérative des pêcheries de Cheticamp purchased it in 1987 using the basement warehouse for fishing equipement, supplies, and rented the upper floor to a local family.

Anne Cecille (à Hubert à Laurent) St-Jean and her husband Armand, returning from home to Cheticamp, purchased the building in 1993 for JAL's Market-Rep Limited, a family owned company and converted it into a store. After renovations were completed, in September 1993, it was used as Cetillions Belle-Marche Novelties.

In the spring of 1995, it was converted to accommodate Armand Léonard Studio et Galérie d'Art.

Jean Philipe (à Joseph Alex Porier) and wife Yvonne (à Sandey Haché) purchased the building in May 1997 and converted it into a Flower and Gift Shop.

Yolande LeVert purchased the building in 2003 to house a gym called L'Acadie Grouille which later moved to Ecole NDA.

Mark and Veronica Poirier purchased the building in September 2011, and starting using it for Poirier's Burner Service Limited, and in 2018 they converted it into La Digue Suites.
